David Struett has been a reporter at the Chicago Sun-Times since 2018. He served as the Sun-Times’ interim deputy editor of the breaking news desk from December 2020 to April 2021.
He has been also published in the South Side Weekly, Chicago Sun-Times Homicide Watch and Harold Washington College’s paper, The Herald, where he was managing editor.
Before he was a journalist, he worked as an EMT on the Lurie Children’s Hospital transport team in downtown Chicago. He earned a B.A. in history from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and worked with the AmeriCorps at a food bank in New Orleans.
